Add a Grain Load Delivery to an Elevator

Introduction: This guide explains how to enter a grain load that is being delivered to an elevator in Harvest Profit. You'll learn how to select the crop, source and destination, enter ticket details, and choose the appropriate input mode before submitting the load.

  1. Open the Add Tickets Screen
    • Navigate to the Inventory page.
    • Select Add Tickets.
  2. Select the Crop
    • Choose the crop for the load.
    • If the crop is not listed, go to Account Settings and add the crop first.
    • Refer to the Add Crop help documentation if needed.
  3. Select the Source and Destination
    • Choose the source location, such as a field or grain bin.
    • Select an elevator delivery location under the Elevator category as the destination.
    • Select the appropriate ownership.
  4. Choose an Input Mode
    • Wet Mode:
      • Enter the wet amount from the ticket.
      • Harvest Profit calculates the dry equivalent based on the crop's standard moisture.
      • The net amount equals the wet amount minus any dockage.
    • Net Mode:
      • Enter the net bushels shown on the elevator ticket.
      • The ticket's accepted bushels drive the transaction amount.
  5. Enter Quantity and Quality Information
    • Enter the ticket quantity.
    • Enter moisture.
    • Enter any dockage.
    • Review the calculated dry bushel amount if using Wet Mode.
  6. Add Grain Specifications
    • Enter any available specifications, such as Test Weight.
    • To add additional specifications, select the Gear Settings icon and choose the specifications you want to track.
    • Up to four specifications can be displayed.
  7. Enter Ticket Details
    • Enter the Ticket ID.
    • Select a truck if desired. This field is optional.
  8. Select a Planned Contract (Optional)
    • If planned contracts exist for the selected elevator, choose one from the list.
    • Planned contracts can help organize future settlements.
  9. Add Notes or Attachments
    • Enter any notes related to the ticket.
    • Upload a ticket image or attachment if available.
  10. Review and Submit
    • Select Preview and Submit.
    • Review the ticket information.
    • Select Submit to save the ticket.
    • Or select Submit and Create Another to enter an additional ticket.
Tip: Use Wet Mode when you want Harvest Profit to calculate the dry equivalent based on moisture. Use Net Mode when you want the accepted bushels from the elevator ticket to drive the transaction.
Troubleshooting:
  1. If your crop is missing, add it under Account Settings before creating the ticket.
  2. If no planned contracts appear, verify that contracts have been entered for the selected elevator.
  3. If the dry amount seems incorrect, review the moisture value entered and confirm the crop's standard moisture settings.
