Add Grain Bins

Adding a Grain Bin

Introduction: This guide explains how to add a grain bin in Harvest Profit and assign it to a bin site. Setting up grain bins helps keep your inventory organized and makes it easier to track where grain is stored.

  1. Navigate to Grain Bins
    • Go to the Inventory page in Harvest Profit.
    • At the top of the page, click the Grain Bins tab.
  2. Add a New Grain Bin
    • On the right-hand side, click + Add Grain Bin.
    • Enter the Name of the grain bin.
    • Enter the Capacity.
    • If bin sites are already set up, select the appropriate Bin Site.
    • Click Save.
  3. Add a Bin Site
    • Click the Bin Sites tab.
    • Click + Add Bin Site.
    • Enter the Name of the bin site.
  4. Assign Grain Bins to a Bin Site
    • If the bin site name matches the beginning of an existing grain bin name, Harvest Profit will automatically show grain bins that start with that name.
    • For example, if you have an Anderson grain bin and create an Anderson bin site, the Anderson grain bin will appear as an option.
    • Select the grain bin you want to add to the bin site.
    • Click Save.
Tip: Use consistent naming for grain bins and bin sites. If the names start the same way, Harvest Profit can help surface matching grain bins when setting up a bin site.
Troubleshooting: If your grain bin or bin site is not saving correctly:
  1. Check that the grain bin has a Name and Capacity.
  2. Confirm the correct Bin Site is selected, if applicable.
  3. If a grain bin does not appear when adding it to a bin site, review the grain bin name and bin site name for matching spelling.
