- Field → Paddock: Same thing – a cropped area of land.
- Grain Elevator → Receival Site / Silo Complex: Commercial grain storage facility.
- Grain Bin → Silo: On-farm storage; “field bins” are portable silos in AU.
- Scale Ticket → Delivery Docket: Receipt for each grain load delivered.
- Acre → Hectare: Land area unit; 1 acre = ~0.405 ha.
- Cash Sale → Spot Sale: Grain sold at today’s price for immediate delivery.
- Landlord → Landowner: Owner of farmland rented to a farmer.
- Crop Share → Share Farming: Rent paid as a % of crop yield/revenue.
- Cash Rent → Fixed Lease: Rent paid as a fixed amount per acre/ha.
- Yield (bu/acre) → Yield (t/ha): Crop output per land unit.
- Crop Year → Season: U.S. “crop year” vs AU “season” (often winter/summer crop).
