Track Bales

Introduction: Harvest Profit doesn’t currently have a direct way to add bale revenue that impacts crop break evens. This guide shows you how to set up a custom input category and crop practice so you can both record bale revenue and track bale production in inventory.

Steps

  1. Create a Custom Input Category
    • Go to Account Settings → Operation Details → Input Categories.
    • Create a new category called Bale Revenue.
  2. Record Bale Revenue
    • Go to the Inputs Page.
    • Add your bale revenue under Bale Revenue as a negative expense.
    • Note: Miscellaneous Revenue does not affect break evens, so negative expenses are required to impact break even numbers.
  3. Add a Crop Practice for Bales
    • Go to Account Settings → Operation Details → Crops.
    • Click on an existing crop (e.g., Wheat or Barley) or create a new crop.
    • Under Practices, click +Add Practice.
    • Enter Wheat Bales or Barley Bales to track bale production in Inventory.

We know this process isn’t ideal, and we have plans to improve bale revenue tracking in future updates.
