Input Purchases

Introduction: This guide will walk you through the two key steps for tracking inputs in Harvest Profit:

  • Step 1: Add your input purchases (seed, chemical, fertilizer, or other inputs) so that accurate costs and inventory are tracked.
  • Step 2: View and export input usage reports to analyze totals, costs, and usage by field, crop, or entity.

Step 1: Adding Input Purchases

Entering purchases ensures that your reports show correct costs and remaining amounts.

  1. Go to the Inputs Page
    • From the left-hand navigation, click Inputs.
  2. Locate Your Product
    • Find the seed, chemical, or fertilizer you want to add a purchase for.
    • On the Cost column, click the shopping cart icon.
  3. Add Purchase Details
    • Enter the quantity purchased, purchase price, and unit type (e.g., gallons, tons, bushels).
    • If multiple purchases are entered at different prices, Harvest Profit will calculate a weighted average cost across your applications.
  4. Save and Apply
    • Click Save to record the purchase.
    • The purchase data will automatically link to your applications and reports, giving you accurate cost and inventory tracking.
